Xích lô là phương tiện để vận chuyển hành khách và hàng hóa đã xuất hiện từ lâu đời trong đời sống của người Việt.
Xích lô có nguồn gốc từ Pháp và người Việt cũng mượn từ gốc tiếng Pháp là cyclo và đọc chệch một xíu để có được từ “xích lô”.
Hiện nay, nhiều phương tiện công cộng và cá nhân tiện dụng hơn ra đời đã làm xích lô không còn được phổ biến như xưa.
