Vì… nên là một cặp từ được dùng để nối 2 vế câu với nhau trong đó 2 câu mang nét nghĩa biểu thị quan hệ nguyên nhân – kết quả.
Cấu trúc cụ thể như sau: Vì + [nguyên nhân] + nên + [kết quả].
Ở vế nguyên nhân, đó có thể là một danh từ, một câu rút gọn, hay một câu hoàn chỉnh.
Vế kết quả là mệnh đề chính của câu nên thường là một câu hoàn chỉnh.
Ví dụ:
Vì trời mưa to nên tôi không đi bộ.
I don’t go jogging, because it rains heavily.
