2024 Mid-Autumn Charity Trip | Post-event Recap

The 2024 Mid-Autumn Festival Charity Trip was a transformative experience for the community of Trảng B, Hamlet 2, Đồng Nai Province. This annual event, organized by Vietnamese Language Studies (VLS), has consistently demonstrated its commitment to community development and sustainability.

1. Environmental Enhancements

• Waste Management Facilities: We constructed modern garbage storage facilities and installed large, durable garbage bins throughout the community.
• Solar Power Initiatives: The installation of solar streetlights not only improved lighting but also reduced the community’s carbon footprint.

2. Environmental Education

• Community Workshop: We conducted interactive workshop on waste classification, recycling, and composting.
• Raising Awareness: Provided rules and informational boards on waste classification and updating the community on waste treatment practices.

3. Community Support

• Household Gifts: Provided organic waste treatment bins and biological products to promote sustainable waste management. Distributed essential food items like rice, sugar, cooking oil, shopping baskets and Biti’s shoes for elderly to support families in need and enhance daily living for the elderly.
• Children Gifts: Distributed lanterns, clothing, fresh milk, and Biti’s shoes to bring joy and support to children.

4. Supporting Human Resources

• Volunteer Coordination: Providing funding to support volunteers in organizing regular community updates on waste treatment practices.
• Local Personnel Empowerment: Providing funding to support local personnel responsible for managing waste collection and treatment to ensure the project’s long-term sustainability.

More Than Just a Charity Trip: A Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration

Beyond our charitable endeavors, the 2024 Mid-Autumn Festival at Lành Farm was a vibrant celebration filled with joy and camaraderie. Our charity team had the opportunity to participate in a variety of interested activities, including:

• A Festive BBQ: We gathered around the grill to enjoy a delicious barbecue, sharing stories and laughter.
• Cultural Celebrations: We immersed ourselves in the spirit of the Mid-Autumn Festival by participating in a lantern parade, watching a captivating lion dance performance by VLS students, and enjoying an entertaining fire show.
• Water Sports Exploration: To enhance our experience, we engaged in a variety of water sports at Trị An Lake, including stand-up paddleboarding, swimming, and other aquatic activities.

These activities not only provided a much-needed break from our charitable work but also strengthened our team bonds and created lasting memories.
