Learning Vietnamese in Ho Chi Minh City - In the warm atmosphere of the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival, as an annual routine, VLS once again held a charity field trip to give a helping hand to all the underprivileged children in Suối Tượng, Mã Đà Commune, Vĩnh Cửu District, Đồng Nai Province. With the generous donation, 210 gift packs of school stationeries and food, as well as drink had been carefully packed and given to all the children in Suối Tượng and C3 Elementary School. Each gift pack worth 300.000 VND.
The bus to ĐồngNai was full of laughter and lovely songs which were performed by all the members on board. This was also a chance for everybody to get to know more about some attractive destinations in Đồng Nai province such as Trị An hydroelectric dam or the green forest in butterflies hunting season and Vĩnh Hằng cemetery which is also called the park for the death
Although Mid-Autumn Festival is a famous festival for children in Vietnam, not all foreigners know about this special event. Therefore, this charity field trip, besides the main purpose is to organize a warm Mid-Autumn Festival for children in Suối Tượng, VLS would like to help our foreign learners and participants to live in Vietnamese via culture exchange and understanding more about this tradition especially when taking part in the play “Chú Cuội”.
It wouldn’t be perfectly successful without the amazing help and generous donation from many kind people. VLS would like to say heartfelt thanks to all of you, especially Ms. Bee Lian Ng and the Keith Sim’s scholarship for giving two scholarship of 9,880,000VND/each/a year for 2 children having the chance to get higher education, 210 gift pack of school stationeries for 210 students in Suối Tượng and C3 elementary school as well as 34,000,000 VND for 34 poor family there. Besides, VLS received 71 boxes of Kirin’s latte from Mr.Takayuki Morisawa and Mr.Koyama Hideaki, the donation of money from lots of people and we bought rice and notebooks to supplement to 210 gift packs.
