On Wednesday 17th May, 4 CET students delivered their final presentations about their 4-month journey of learning Vietnamese and living in Vietnam. They filled the air with laughter throughout their presentations. The 4 talked about their families, what they were studying, where they had traveled in Vietnam and other countries, all in Vietnamese. Everybody in the room was really impressed by their short-time learning Vietnamese yet speaking so good.
Kayla introduced the fascinating life of hers in Sài Gòn with her roommate Trâm. She interned at LIN a non-profit organization. She once traveled to Cam Đức but she didn’t forget to practice her Vietnamese as well as do the research on the health standard of Rag Lai and Chăm people. Next month she will travel to Cam Đức to continue her research. She expressed her interest in the life in Vietnam which she can meet lots of people, eat lots of delicious dishes and make lots of new friends.
This is her testimonial after finishing her learning Vietnamese course at VLS: Thank you so much for helping me to learn Vietnamese! It has been such an amazing experience for me to live in Vietnam and learn from the wonderful teachers here. I hope that I will be able to continue to learn and practice Vietnamese after I return to the US. Then maybe one day I will be able to return to Vietnam and speak to people in Vietnamese more fluently. Thank you again for everything, it was hard at first, but one of the most rewarding things I have done here.
Dylan – Một cuộc sống ở Việt Nam.
Dylan expressed his deep interest in coffee as he was a bartender at Starbuck in USA as well as when coming to Vietnam he continued to work as a bartender intern at the coffee shop The Maker. He talked about his families and his cute little dog Malah. He enjoyed Vietnamese food, especially Cơm sườn ốp la as he ate it a lot. Next week, he will travel to Cambodia and will meet his family after 4 months.

Leah traveled to a lot of places in Vietnam and tried many kinds of food. However, her most favorite dishes is Hà Nội’s dishes and strawberry in Đà Lạt. She also made a lot of friends in Sài Gòn.

Erica – Việt Nam trong mắt tôi
Erica is a great tennis player and she also won some high prizes. During her time in Vietnam, she not only learn Vietnamese but also intern as a marketing executive at the coffee shop The Maker. She loves the people, the view, the weather and food in Vietnam. She said that she want to learn more Vietnamese to talk to her friends in Vietnam. She had had 4 amazing months in Sài Gòn. She expressed her sadness to come back to USA.
